Education & Employment

I am currently a student at Huddersfield University, undertaking my fifth year of study on a Software Engineering course. I currently hold a First class Honours Degree in software development. Upon completion of my fifth year I will also hold a Masters of Engineering in Software Engineering. I then acheive Chartered Engineer status within a couple of years of completing my course.

My course has included modules in Object Orientated System Development, Writing Software, Hardware and Networks, Artificial Neural Networks, Language Specifcation and Implementation, Database and Web Integration, Algorithm Processing and Data, Professional Issues, Large System Environments, Advanced Software Development, Methods and Modelling and many more...

Other modules that I will study in my final year include advanged techniques such as Binary Reverse Engineering, Memory Analysis, Forensic File System Analysis, Ethical Hacking and much more.

For my dissertation I did a project that involved the creation of a Distributed based Network Media Centre with integrated clustered processing. The idea behind the project was to show that distributed and clustered computing tequniques can be used within a home environment and not exclusivly within large corporations. Ultimetly the system had the following primary features:
Media Playback
Automatic Distributed Media Catalogue
Clustered DVD to MPEG4 video encoding
Audio CD Encoding
DVD Imaging

The system also incorporated the ability to automatically create and mount NFS filesystems from computers within the cluster, this meant that there is no need for human intervention during the application setup. The project also illustrated that there is no need for a client/server arcitecture for these types of systems.

As part of my fifth year studies I am undertaking a Group Project, as part of this a project a product is being developed designed to aid in the teaching of artificial neural networks(for more information visit our website anntt.org). I have also got A-Levels in ICT, Computing, Physics, Chemistry and General Studies.
