Disable CPU scaling in Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty)



OK, to remove the CPU scaling t relatively easy, I did it using an application called rcconf.

So step by step, firstly you need to install the application so run the following command...

sudo apt-get install rcconf

Once that is done you need to run the application in sudo mode, so run the following command...

sudo rcconf

This should display a screen like shown below:
VOID

Scroll down using the arrow keys until the Ondemand option is selected, then clisk the space bar to deselect it:
VOID

Now click tab to select the OK button:VOID

Now press enter, this should return you to the commandline. Thats it you are done, after a reboot you shouldn't have any cpu scaling.
